Latest Microsoft updates

Here's what's new from Microsoft this month:

Windows 11 – July Patch Tuesday (KB5101650)

Fixed 570 flaws, including two zero-days exploited in attacks and one publicly disclosed  (Bleeping Computer) — a 316% jump from July 2025's 137 vulnerabilities  (Windows Latest) , largely attributed to AI accelerating both bug-finding and attack development.

New features: Point-in-time restore now rolls out more broadly, letting you roll back your PC (including apps, settings, and files) to a restore point from the last 72 hours  (Windows Latest) .

You can now pause Windows updates for up to 35 days and re-pause as needed  (Thurrott) .

A new "screen tint" accessibility feature adds a color overlay to reduce eye strain, and Magnifier now supports preset zoom increments plus typed exact zoom percentages  (Thurrott) .

Bluetooth pairing is faster for devices like AirPods  (Thurrott) , and Taskbar notification badges and networking to shared resources are more reliable  (Windows Latest) .

Widgets got a "quieter" experience that's easier to ignore  (Thurrott) .

Minor fix: the emoji panel's GIF search now pulls from GIPHY instead of the deprecated Tenor API  (Windows Latest) .

Office

Microsoft also shipped its July 2026 security updates for Office  (Microsoft Support) , standard monthly patching.

Partner/Commercial Cloud

Starting this month, Microsoft shifted to annual (rather than more frequent) local-currency pricing updates for Commercial Cloud services, effective each January  (Microsoft Learn) .

Want me to dig into any of these — like the security fixes in more detail, or something specific like Copilot/M365 updates?
